Solution To Solve The HP Printer Cartridge Issue

The HP is one of the popular brands which offer many devices such as laptops, printer, scanner, desktop, and so on. Nowadays massive numbers of people are using the HP printer. It has become more popular among the user due to its high-quality printouts. The HP printer has come with unique and advanced features. Sometimes due to a technical issue, many users face an HP printer cartridge issue. For this issue, the ink cartridge needs to be reinstalled.  If the icon displays on the control panel this indicates that the cartridge is causing an error. Here are the solutions to troubleshoot the cartridge issue.

Solution 1: Use genuine HP cartridges

Initially make sure that the cartridge you use is compatible with your printer.

Solution 2: Remove, Inspect and reset the cartridges

If the cartridge does not have the electrical contact with the printer, the cartridge error message will display. So follow the below-given steps to remove and reinstall the cartridge into the printer.

  • First turn on the printer
  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Now wait until it is at rest and silent
  • Push down the cartridge top to release it
  • And then pull it toward to take away it from its slot
  • Remove the clear protective tape on it
  • Slide the cartridge into the empty slot and push the cartridge upper part until it clicks into the place
  • Repeat the above step for the other cartridge
  • Then close the cartridge access door
  • Now attempt to print a page

Solution 3: Clean cartridge and contacts

  • Turn on the printer
  • Open the cartridge access door
  • Disconnect the power cord from the printer
  • Push down the cartridge to release it and then pull it toward to eliminate it
  • Then hold the cartridge by its sides
  • Inspect the ink cartridge contacts and trash buildup
  • Clean the copper contacts
  • Then use the swab to clean the contacts
  • Wait for few minutes to dry
  • Then rest the cartridge into the vacant slot
  • Close the door
  • Reconnect the power cord
  • Turn on the printer
  • And finally try to print a page

Solution 4: Reset the printer

  • Turn on the printer
  • Disconnect the power cord
  • Unplug the power cord
  • Now wait for few minutes
  • Plug all the power cord

Solution 5: Replace the cartridge

  • Turn on the printer
  • Load empty paper into the input tray
  • Open the door
  • Remove the cartridge
  • Then pull the orange tap to eliminate the plastic tape
  • Insert the cartridge into its slot
  • Snap the cartridge into the place
  • If needed do again these steps to restore the other cartridge
  • Now close the door
  • Now press OK to print
